The school provides a magical five years and a superb underpinning for all future education.

Good Schools Guide

So what makes Cothill stand out? It’s traditional, but never stuffy. Posh, but down to earth. Low profile locally, but well known to the cognoscenti.

Good Schools Guide

We have always felt the school has kept our boys' health and happiness as upmost priority. Academically they have been encouraged to realise their best potential; Cothill gets the most out of our boys without sweat and tears. Our expectations have been met and exceeded. We couldn't be happier.

CURRENT PARENT

A wealth of retreats where boys can spend as much free time as they like indulging creative passions such as woodwork (a real favourite with boys, guided by a former police officer known as ‘PC’), pottery and art.

Good Schools Guide

Boys are confident, smiley and polite with no sign of entitlement or arrogance, with shirts untucked and ties askew.

From re-enacting the Dambusters on the school field to building tanks for the Battle of Cambrai, fun and the very best of Britishness are at the heart of Cothill’s DNA.

Pupils achieve highly in sporting events, as exemplified by the considerable success of the school’s rugby, football and cricket teams and the standards reached in a wide range of other individual and team sports.

Imaginative and creative teaching strategies make lessons fun and learning highly enjoyable.

Teaching at Cothill is all about getting boys out of their seats and experiencing things first hand.

Good Schools Guide

The Head meets with every pupil, every week, to discuss their learning and progress - a standout aspect of the Cothill education.

CURRENT Parent

With four sons under the age of seven we selected Cothill a number of years ago.  During our tour, the staff were all intelligent and kind, classrooms stuffed full of fun and energetic work from the boys. Cothill boys were relaxed, happy and a little bit scruffy because they were so busy - each one turned his smiley face up to the Head to greet him without prompt before rushing off - it felt like a large, bright and energetic family forging ahead together. 12 years later those initial thoughts were proved right; all four of our quite different boys have thrived at Cothill and got into good senior schools and university, each one with a good work ethic, team spirit and they have remained in touch with their Cothillian friends.

Free time on their rollerblades, ripsticks or exploring the woods.

Good Schools Guide

As Head, you have the enthusiasm, belief and sense to run a fantastic school for boys. The boys can learn, whilst at the same time enjoy their childhood, which is so essential.
