School life
While most boys board at Cothill, from September 2023 they can also join as day boys in the lower years or split their week to be boarders on some days and day boys on others.
We remain committed to our fundamental belief that boarding offers the best possible environment for boys to study to their full potential, allows them to take full advantage of the extracurricular activities and encourages stronger friendships that can last a lifetime. However, we also know how important it is to listen to parents and to work with families to ensure that every boy's start at Cothill is a happy and fulfilling one.
All boys are under the personal care of the Head and his wife. Together with skilled and experienced pastoral and teaching staff, they quickly get to know every boy, and they work together to help each boy reach his full potential.
So what does life at Cothill look like?
Well, there is no typical day or week or year - that is the joy! Rather, this website will give you a sense of our commitment to and success in:
- surrounding the boys with a community that genuinely becomes a second family
- exposing the boys to such a varied and exciting curriculum in and out of the classroom that they discover their strengths and learn to give themselves the personal foundations on which to build
- recognising their individual potential, often before they recognise it in themselves, and ensuring they are prepared to make the most of who they are, who they want to become and where they want to be in future
